Several bus companies operate lines in Croatia. Travelling by bus especially on or to the coast quicker and simpler than by train. When planning your journey by bus, it is advisable to visit the following websites (cijena means prices and vozni red means timetable).

Libertas Dubrovnik                        www.libertasdubrovnik.com

Liburnija Zadar                             www.liburnija-zadar.hr

The main bus stations are usually situated close to the city centre, the railway station and the seaport.

By train

The railway stations were built in the vicinity of the city centres and ports. The term glavni kolodvor means main railway station, željeznička stanica refers to a smaller stop. To find out the train schedule and prices, visit the website of the Croatian Railway company (www.hznet.hr).

By boat and ferry
The biggest Croatian boat company is Jadrolinija (www.jadrolinija.hr). It operates lines between the mainland and the islands, Croatia and some Italian cities (Ancona, Pescara, Bari). Poreč is connected with Venice by Viamare (www.viamare.com). On the international lines several cabin types and meals are available.

The ferry transport is reliable and frequent, in the summer there are more lines however in high season ferry ports are very crowded. It is advisable to arrive 30 minutes earlier before boarding.

By plane

The national carrier of the country is Croatia Airlines (www.croatiaairlines.hr, tel: +385 1 667 6555). The flights connect Zagreb with the bigger Croatian towns (Dubrovnik, Split, Zadar, Pula, Osijek) and European cities. The airports are usually located 15-20 km away from the town centres.
